  • No, parents are assigned the two parking lots directly in front of the school on both sides of the traffic circle with the two flagpoles. The Performing Arts Centre and Senior School parking lots are reserved for staff and students.

    • JK: Kindercentre doors facing the main school building

    • SK: Kindercentre doors facing 93rd Street

    • Grades 1–6: The South Elementary entrance near the music rooms

    • Grades 7–9: The front entrance

    • Grades 10–12: The North Senior School entrance

  • No, all students will learn who their teachers are on the first day of school and not before.

  • No, preferred teacher requests will not be considered as teachers and administrators put a great deal of time and energy into class placements and we cannot accommodate such requests.

  • New families are emailed busing registration forms near the end of May each year. If you wish to take the bus please submit this form. Southland will create the bus routes based on the addresses submitted, keeping in mind the bus boundaries. Bus routes are finalized midAugust.   • No, we cannot release any personal information on our students without parental permission; however, teacher and homeroom parent will assist with a preauthorized class list once school begins.

UNIFORM FAQ

  • No, all clothing items worn to school must be uniform-issued items from Top Marks.

  • Yes, all students are required to wear the ‘formal’ uniform on the first day of school, on the first school day of each week during the school year, and on the first day back to school after any scheduled school break or long-weekend. Please see the Parent-Student Handbook for the full-dress uniform description.

    • One pair of plain black leather, non-marking shoes for daily wear with uniform 

    • One pair of gym runners (for indoor use only)

    • Weather appropriate outdoor footwear for wear to and from school and during recess and lunch breaks.

  • They can be any colour as long as they have non-marking soles.

  • Only children in grades 4-12 change for gym classes. Children in grades JK-3 only change their shoes.
