Myron Tetreault LIBRARY
Through its collections and services, the Myron Tetreault Library supports and enhances the programme of studies at Webber Academy. The library provides an ideal environment for the acquisition of knowledge, encourages intellectual enquiry and an independent approach to learning as well as endeavours to give students the skills they need to take them to university and beyond. The library promotes and encourages the practice of reading for pleasure utilizing both fiction and non-fiction resources. Literacy is further developed by emphasizing an author’s use of literary devices and writing strategies, encouraging “Buddy Reading”, and exploring various genres throughout the school year.
The Myron Tetreault Library has a collection of over 26,000 books and other items as well as a considerable number of online resources. The comprehensive and varied selection of titles includes fiction, non-fiction, poetry, picture books and graphic novels. We also have 24 new laptops available for student use. Regular library instructional time takes place for Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6, while reading classes for Junior High students and access to the library for high school students takes place during flex-classes.
