Admissions ASSESSMENTS

Admissions testing assessment is used for all students applying to Senior Kindergarten through to Grade 12. Junior Kindergarten students will attend an interview/observation in place of admissions testing.

Due to the advanced nature of our programme, we require proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking). We do not offer ESL or EAL support.

  • Our Junior Kindergarten (JK) classes run Monday to Friday, 8:20 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., throughout the regular school year. The JK programme is for children turning 4 years old prior to December 31st of the year they will be enrolled in school. Children participate in play-based learning activities which develop their early literacy and numeracy skills and help foster social development. In addition, our JK students benefit from separate classes in Music, Physical Education and Spanish.

No formal testing is completed for our youngest applicants; however, families who have submitted completed applications will be invited to attend:

    • an interview and observation with the Director of Admissions

    • a play workshop to assess your child's readiness for our programme

Attributes such as behaviour, language development, willingness to join others at play, participation in activities, and social interaction are taken into consideration when making placement decisions.

Please note that children who will not turn 4 before December 31 must apply for the following school year.

  • Applicants to Senior Kindergarten will complete a Webber Academy assessment booklet. The booklet comprises a series of work sheets that focus on early literacy, early numeracy, and fine motor skills. The Senior Kindergarten assessments take place in late January for those with complete application checklists.

  • Grade 1-5 applicants with strong report cards will be invited for admissions assessment. They will complete one of our in-house assessment packs, which focus on skills and ability in English (reading comprehension and writing) and Math.

    • Register for one of the standard or flex dates at an SSAT test centres
