There are two divisions of the Spelling Bee. Division 1 is for children in Grades 1–3. Division 2 is for children Grades 4–6.

If your school is hosting a qualifying Spelling Bee, your child must qualify through that competition for you to register your child in the Calgary Invitational Spelling Bee. If your child's school is not hosting a qualifying Spelling Bee, you may register your child at any time. There is a maximum of 3 children per school in each Division.
